Here's a fun project that the kids will love. Get creative by using cookies to cover a cardboard farmhouse...it makes a wonderful centerpiece for the holidays.
ingredients
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 box (16 ounces) confectioners' sugar
Assorted Pepperidge Farm® Cookies and Crackers
directions
Cut a 15x15-inch square from heavy cardboard or thick foam core board for the base. Cut the walls and roof of the house from heavy cardboard.
Beat the egg whites, cream of tartar and confectioners' sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer on high speed for 5 minutes or until stiff peaks form. Spoon about 1 cup egg white icing into a pastry bag. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth to prevent the remaining icing from drying out.
Assemble the house using the icing as the "glue". Make sure to "glue" the walls to the base as well as to each other, holding each piece in place for 5 minutes before moving on to the next. Let stand for 3 hours or until the house is completely dry before decorating.
Decorate the house with the Pepperidge Farm® cookies and crackers, using the icing as the "glue". Spread the icing on the base to make snow.
